Avengers 4: Is Hawkeye in Avengers 4? Did Russo brothers get death threats?

Avengers: Infinity War left fans heartbroken, missing half of their favourite superheroes in the wake of Thanos’ snap.

But before Thanos’ snap even happened, there were a few heroes missing – notably, Hawkeye.

Hawkeye actor himself Jeremy Renner told USA today that he enjoyed seeing fans rally around his character, even if it manifested badly for the film’s directors.

“It’s a nice feeling, I suppose,” Renner said, “I think the Russo brothers [directors Anthony and Joe] got way too many death threats.”

He added: “I’m like, “Wow, dude, that’s intense. I’m sorry!”

Is Hawkeye in Avengers 4?

Despite his omission from Infinity War, Hawkeye is going to have a major part in Avengers 4.

Renner also confirmed to Heroic Hollywood Hawkeye will be back for Avengers 4.

He said: “Everybody’s got to bite their tongue but if you like Infinity War, there’s some stuff to come.”

Avengers 4 plot details are still majorly under wraps, but Renner added, “What I do know is it’s going to be awesome.”

Joe Russo further explained Hawkeye’s Infinity War absence, he said: “We did not forget the twice-nominated Jeremy Renner.

“We cooked up a story for him that is a little bit of a long play. Not a short play.”

Anthony Russo repeated the sentiment, adding, “All will be revealed.”

Jeremy Renner was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actor for his role in The Hurt Locker (2008).

Renner took the role of Hawkeye for the Thor standalone movie in 2011 and has been a fan favourite ever since.

Death threats still seem a bit excessive.

The official Avengers 4 synopsis reads as follows: “An unprecedented cinematic journey ten years in the making and spanning the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe, Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Infinity War brings to the screen the ultimate, deadliest showdown of all time.
