The next instalment in the Rocky franchise is heading to cinemas soon.

Ahead of its imminent release, Warner Bros has released a featurette for Creed 2 titled Art Imitates Life.

The featurette shows both clips from the film, but also behind the scenes snippets of Viktor Drago boxer-turned-actor Florian Munteanu.

Filmed partly in black and white, the featurette is both a gritty and realistic look at what it takes to become a boxer at the level of the fictional Drago and Adonis Creed (Michael B Jordan).

Who is Florian Munteanu?

The man behind the gloves is a real-life Romanian boxer, whose Instagram feed is enough to make even the most swole gym-goer feel inadequate.

He was raised in Germany and attended the University of Munich to study studied sports, media, and event management.

The clip lists Munteanu’s physical stats.

The man is six feet four inches tall, weigh 245 lbs.

He has a reach of 79 inches and at only 28 years old has also done work as a fitness model in addition to his own heavyweight boxing career.

His family is full of sports enthusiasts and Munteanu’s own father is (perhaps not surprisingly) an avid boxer.

The featurette gives us a brief impression of Munteanu’s impressive physical regime, adding further anticipation for the upcoming movie.

In Creed 2, he plays Drago, the son of Rocky-franchise villain Ivan Drago (Dolph Lundgren).

Drago senior killed Creed’s father, Apollo, in 1985 sequel Rocky IV.

The trailer of Creed 2 shows the boxing champion facing a rival “with ties to his family’s past.”

The official plot synopsis reads: “Life has become a balancing act for Adonis Creed.

“Between personal obligations and training for his next big fight, he is up against the challenge of his life.

“Facing an opponent with ties to his family’s past only intensifies his impending battle in the ring.

“Rocky Balboa is there by his side through it all and, together, Rocky and Adonis will confront their shared legacy, question what is worth fighting for, and discover that nothing is more important than family.”

Sylvester Stallone is reprising his role as Rocky once again, with Tessa Thompson returning to the role of Bianca Porter, a singer and Adonis’ girlfriend and now the mother of his child.

Dolph Lundgren also returns to the franchise as the villainous Ivan Drago, Russia’s former prize champion boxer, who had, years earlier killed Apollo Creed (Adonis’ father) but was later defeated by Rocky.

Phylicia Rashad plays Mary Anne Creed, Apollo’s widow and Adonis’ stepmother, who takes in Adonis as a child following the death of Adonis’ biological mother.

Brigitte Nielsen plays Ludmila Drago, Ivan’s wife and Viktor’s mother.

In addition, Milo Ventimiglia is returning to the franchise taking up his role of Robert Balboa Jr, Rocky’s son, from 2006’s well-received Rocky Balboa.

Creed II is in cinemas November 30, 2018.
