Deadpool’s spoof in the first movie of the now widely expected post-credit scene was done with huge success.

This spoofing move left fans wondering if Deadpool 2 would capitulate to the trope or stick to its guns.

Did Deadpool 2 have a post credit scene?

The short answer is yes. The long answer, as Deadpool would say, is f*** yes.

Unlike family-friendly Avengers: Infinity War and Guardians of the Galaxy, Deadpool 2 uses raunchy and foul language alongside gratuitous gore to the delight of its fanbase.

Deadpool 2 ups the ante even further in the sequel with its post-credit scenes.

Yes, scenes. Deadpool 2 features five of the after-credit teasers.

Some movies use after credit scenes for a particular comic or dramatic effect.

Other movies use it to break the fourth wall, addressing the audience directly.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe uses end credit scenes to tease fans about upcoming movies and the future fate of beloved superheroes.

Deadpool already uses his antihero attitude to break the fourth wall, so to make an impact in the post-credit scenes, Deadpool 2 really had to go further.

And it did. Deadpool 2 uses its after-credit scenes to all of these ends while maintaining its beloved foul-mouthedness.

The after-credit scenes in Deadpool 2 also fix some of the loose ends left in the wide and confusing X-Men timeline.

Deadpool 2 also goes meta, addressing not only scenes that took place in the movie but also real-life scenes, or how writers Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese imagined them.

The only thing Deadpool 2’s five after-credit scenes didn’t do was give anything up about a third Deadpool film.

Fans will have to wait, the traditional way, to find out if their favourite cheekily-obscene antihero will return for a third movie.
