England rugby hit by DOUBLE injury blow ahead of France Six Nations clash
Eddie Jones is expected to make a number of changes after suffering just his second defeat as England coach when Scotland triumphed 25-13 at Murrayfield.
Both Underhill and Nowell appeared as replacements and were in contention to be promoted to the starting XV in wake of the defeat, only to be ruled out of four days before the game in Paris.
However, Jones has refused to go away from his physical style of rugby despite his back row being out-done by Scotland’s more mobile group.
“The question is whether I’m going to go away from the type of rugby we’re playing and the answer is no,” Jones said last week.
“We don’t have the athletic ability to do it.
“I’m not a magician, mate. I have them for 13 weeks a year.
“I can’t suddenly make them more athletic.
“All I can do is work with them as well as we can and try to maximise the rugby out of the players we have.”
