Howard the Duck MOVIE for MCU? Back to the Future star CONFIRMS Marvel pitch meeting
Back in 1986 George Lucas produced Howard the Duck, based on the Marvel character of the same name.
The poorly received alien movie was destroyed by the critics, with an embarrassing score of 15% on Rotten Tomatoes, not to mention winning four Razzies.
Nevertheless Howard made a surprise CGI return to the big screen, entering the Marvel Cinematic Universe by appearing in Guardians of the Galaxy’s end credits scene.
The Duckwordian had been one of the Collector’s living exhibits on Knowhere before being freed in an explosion.
He next cameoed in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 having a drink on Contraxia with a woman.
Meanwhile Avengers Infinity War director Joe Russo has confirmed Howard survived the Snap, so it’s likely we’ll be seeing him again in the MCU’s future.
Especially now original Howard the Duck movie and Back to the Future star Lea Thompson has confirmed she’s pitching a reboot.
Speaking with Inquisitr, Thompson –who played Howard’s girlfriend Beverly Switzler – revealed the exciting news.
MCU Cosmic teased: “I was told was that Marvel has ideas for a couple of different characters to do some kind of solo film in the future.
“One of these characters was Hawkeye. And Kevin Feige’s comments of different incarnations of characters coincides with what I was told about Hawkeye.
“I won’t say anymore because, again, it’s not something that is likely to happen for a long time if at all, but it’s definitely something that is on Marvel Studios’ radar.”
