King-Trump spat: 'No clowns for you, Donald'
Horror writer Stephen King has hit back at President Trump for blocking him on Twitter.
The long-time critic of the President says he will stop him from seeing upcoming killer Clown movie It, as well as TV series Mr Mercedes, both based on his books.
King said on Twitter in June that the President had blocked him from reading his tweets.
The 69-year-old author has now posted on social media: “Donald Trump blocked me on Twitter. I am hereby blocking him from seeing IT or MR. MERCEDES. No clowns for you, Donald. Go float yourself.”
He did not provide any more information about how he plans to ban Mr Trump from watching the projects.
King was presented with a national medal of arts in 2014 by Mr Trump’s predecessor, Barack Obama.
The movie It is about a group of children who confront their fears while taking on the evil balloon-carrying clown, Pennywise. The film is due out next month.
Meanwhile, Mr Mercedes is about a killer who drives a stolen car into a crowd. The series was first broadcast earlier this month on the Audience network in the US.
As well as King, Mr Trump has also hit the “block” button on another celebrity this summer, swimsuit model Chrissy Teigen.
In July, she tweeted: “After 9 years of hating Donald J Trump, telling him ‘lol no one likes you’ was the straw.”
Teigen also posted a screenshot showing the error message: “You are blocked from following @realDonaldTrump and viewing @realDonaldTrump’s tweets.”
