Melania Trump: First Lady wears grey plaid coat as she arrives with Donald in Pittsburgh

Melania Trump and her husband Donald Trump, 72, looked very solemn as they stepped off Air Force One in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania today.

The style icon and former model opted for a grey and white plaid coat as she made her exit from the plane.

Beneath the outfit, which cinched at her waist, she wore a black ensemble.

The 48-year-old added a pair of sunglasses to her look, as she stepped off the aircraft in front of her spouse.

Meanwhile, Donald sported a black coat, white shirt, and bright blue tie.

Melania and the US President flew to Pittsburgh from Maryland this afternoon, in order to offer their condolences to those affected by the shooting at the Tree of Life Synagogue.

The horrific incident saw 11 worshippers killed, and six injured, during Shabbat services on Saturday.

Among those wounded in the attack were four police officers.

A gunman entered the place of worship and opened fire, with the suspect subsequently being taken into custody.

He was later named as Robert Bowers, 46.

On Sunday, the victims were named as Joyce Fienberg, 75; Richard Gottfried, 65; Rose Mallinger, 97; Jerry Rabinowitz, 66; Cecil Rosenthal, 59; his brother David, 54; Bernice Simon, 84; her husband Sylvan, 86; Daniel Stein, 71; Melvin Wax, 88, and Irving Younger, 69.

Mourners gathered today to pay their respects as some of the funeral services took place.

Earlier this evening, Donald’s daughter, Ivanka Trump, 37, was also pictured as she made her way to Pittsburgh.

She travelled with her husband Jared Kushner, 39, with the Jewish couple both wearing black.

The President’s daughter, who works as a Senior Advisor to Donald, took to Twitter earlier this week to pay her respects.

Writing in view of her 5.89 million Twitter followers, she wrote: “America is stronger than the acts of a depraved bigot and anti-semite.

“All good Americans stand with the Jewish people to oppose acts of terror & share the horror, disgust & outrage over the massacre in Pittsburgh.”

She continued: “We must unite against hatred & evil.

“God bless those affected.”

Ivanka was raised as a Presbyterian Christian, but converted to Judaism in 2009, before she married Jared.

Real name

Ivanka is not, in fact, her real name. She actually shares her mother’s name Ivana.

Explaining why she is known as Ivanka in a 2010 tweet, she said: “In Czech, Ivanka is the baby name for Ivana, like Bobby is to Robert.”

Ivanka was well known to the American public before her father became President thanks to appearances on TV.

She made short cameos on Project Runway and Gossip Girl, as well as becoming a primary boardroom member on The Apprentice with Donald.

Wedding

Ivanka married Jared Kushner on 25 October 2009 at Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, New Jersey, after a three month engagement.

Barron Trump served as ring bearer, as Ivanka wore a custom Vera Wang gown accessorised with diamonds from her fine jewellery collection.

Religion

Ivanka was raised as a Presbyterian Christian, but converted to Judaism to allow her to marry Jared Kushner.

Ivanka studied with Elie Weinstock from the Modern Orthodox Ramaz School, on the Upper East Side of Manhattan in New York City.

She now keeps kosher and observes the Jewish Sabbath. Ivanka said in the February 2015 edition of Vogue: “We’re pretty observant… It’s been such a great life decision for me… I really find that with Judaism, it creates an amazing blueprint for family connectivity.

“From Friday to Saturday we don’t do anything but hang out with one another. We don’t make phone calls.”

Career

Ivanka ran a fashion line for 11 years, only recently closing it down. She also had a fine jewellery store which closed in March 2017.

Ivanka now focuses on her role as an advisor to the President, Donald Trump.
