Paul Pogba to Juventus NOT guaranteed: But Barcelona and PSG circle Man Utd star
That is the sensational claim coming out of Italy today, with the suggestion Pogba could end up in Spain or France instead.
Manchester United want to keep Pogba despite his various run-ins with manager Jose Mourinho.
It may end up that Pogba outlasts Mourinho at Old Trafford, with pressure mounting on the manager.
But chatter over Pogba’s future refuses to die down.
The Frenchman has been linked with a sensation move back to Juventus ever since the summer.
His agent Mino Raiola is said to be testing the waters in case a transfer becomes apparent.
And now Tuttosport reckon Barcelona and PSG are viable January destinations for the player.
The Italian daily claims United, despite their determination to keep Pogba, are aware that if the player wants to quit then he will.
Player power is a major influencer in the transfer market in modern football and Tuttosport claim Pogba could effectively choose when to time his exit.
Yet Juventus, even with Cristiano Ronaldo in their ranks, may struggle to fend off suitors to land the midfielder.
The report claims Barcelona and PSG would be ready to make an offer for the player were he to become available in January.
Barca refrained from spending big money in the summer – partly due to the fact they signed Philippe Coutinho from Liverpool in a £142m deal in January.
PSG paid £138m to turn Kylian Mbappe’s loan move into a permanent deal.
But both clubs could feasibly go for Pogba in January were to be put on the market.
