Terminator Dark Fate TRAILER: Arnold Schwarzenegger and Linda Hamilton RETURN – WATCH here
Back in 2015, Arnie returned as the T-800 for Terminator Genisys, the fifth entry in the time travel franchise. Hopes to spark a new trilogy were dashed however when the film was a box office and critical bomb. But now the rights are back original director James Cameron’s hands and he has completely retconned Terminator 3, Salvation and Genisys so that Terminator Dark Fate – the sixth Terminator movie – can be a direct sequel to his highly praised first two films, The Terminator and Terminator 2: Judgment Day.
For the first time in 28 years, Hamilton returns as Sarah Connor in what could be the first movie in a new trilogy if the box office numbers hold up.
Arnie returns as the T-800, but also as the human that serves as the physical template for Terminator.
Today the official first trailer for Terminator Dark Fate launches, with Paramount Pictures having a live count down on YouTube, which you can view below.
The teaser will go live at 6am PST, which is 2pm in the UK so there’s not long to wait.
Sadly, Cameron did not direct Terminator Dark Fate as he’s busy with his four Avatar sequels.
But as producer, he’s handed that challenge on to Deadpool director Tim Miller.
Last week, Miller teased the trailer was just around the corner on Terminator Dark Fate’s official Twitter feed.
He wrote: “I like to spend every Terminator Day in a dark room thinking dark thoughts and our edit bay is the perfect place!”
He added: “We’re here putting the finishing touches on our FIRST TRAILER.
“We’re just weeks away from releasing this f***er into the wild & we’re very, very excited.”
Hopefully, this sequel can live up to Cameron’s original two movies.
Terminator Dark Fate is released in UK cinemas on October 23, 2019.
