The Predator: What was the controversial deleted scene with Olivia Munn?

Star Olivia Munn had filmed a scene with a man whom she later discovered is a registered sex offender.

The scene was cut from the film when Munn brought the matter to the studio’s attention, kicking off a controversial sequence of events that saw cast members seeming to be reluctant to show their support to her.

Now, after apologies from the likes of director Shane Black, the film is out in cinemas – but what was the deleted scene?

The sequence reportedly showed Munn’s character being hit on by a male, played by Steven Wilder Striegel.

According to ScreenRant, that scene would have been the first we saw of Munn’s character Casey.

Set photos allegedly show her wearing the same outfit she’s in when we first see her in the finished theatrical cut, indicating that it would have immediately preceded what we now see.

As it stands, we have Munn’s Casey in a dog park, being escorted by government agents to analyse a Predator they have captured.

Munn has given several interviews about the Striegel controversy in recent weeks, saying the support she has had from the public has been more noticeable than the support she has had from her co-stars.

“I’ve been so blown away by the response from social media, fans, news, blogs,” she told The Hollywood Reporter.

“When something like this happens, it can oftentimes be polarising, but it’s been so amazing to see that there are a lot of sane people out there that are all expressing the same kind of outrage and understanding, and that support.

“My voice is just one voice, but because of everyone else coming around it, it helped to broaden the conversation, make it louder.”

She added: “I’m grateful my co-stars have spoken out.

“I’ve spoken to a few of them privately, and they do understand the situation and have expressed their regret for how it went down.

“And I think they understand now. But it’s a tough situation.”

The Predator also had an entire deleted subplot that Black decided to remove because it looked too “cheap” on screen.
