Top Gun 2 Maverick: Val Kilmer CONFIRMS his Iceman return with Tom Cruise

He’s wanted to make a comeback since the sequel was announced and now he’s confirmed the news himself that the Iceman Returneth.

Kilmer wrote on his official Facebook page: “I’m officially in the sequel to TOPGUN.”

“I so looking forward to working with Tom, Joe and Jerry, all such unique pros.”

The Wrap reported “an individual with knowledge of the production” has confirmed the former Batman star is in Top Gun 2.

They claim: “A rep for Paramount declined to comment on the casting of Kilmer, who has been spotted around the San Diego hotel the studio has been using since production began last week.”

Kilmer has been vying for a return as Iceman in the sequel since it was announced in 2016.

The 58-year-old has posted a number of social media posts including ones wearing an Iceman t-shirt.

In one he wrote: “Friends said it’s official – Top Gun 2 was announced today.

“I’m ready Tom – still got my Top Gun plaque! Still got the moves! Still got it!”

Top Gun 2: Maverick hits UK cinemas on July 12, 2019.
