Bradley Welsh: Trainspotting 2 star 'SHOT DEAD in Edinburgh Scotland'

The actor died at the scene after being attacked on Wednesday evening. Police say they were called to Chester Street, in the West End of the city, at around 8pm. They found Mr Welsh with serious injuries, and he later died at the scene.

In a statement Police Scotland said: “His death is being treated as suspicious and inquiries are continuing.

“Officers will continue to provide a high-visibility presence in the area to engage with the public, offer reassurance and gather information that can assist with this investigation.

“Anyone who believes they have any relevant information should contact police immediately.”

Mr Welsh appeared in 2017 film T2 Trainspotting, a sequel to the 1996 classic, as gangster Mr Doyle.

He appeared alongside Ewan McGregor, Jonny Lee Miller, Robert Carlyle and Ewan Bremner.
