His trainer, Sir Michael Stoute, can also strike with SOLID STONE (3.00, nap) in the London Gold Cup.

He is up 6lb for his success at Newmarket last month but he gives the impression that there is room for further improvement.

Stoute can make it treble with QUEEN POWER (4.50, nb) in the Haras De Bouquetot Stakes.

She was not disgraced when beaten a short-head by Muchly at Ascot 17 days ago.

On that occasion she was doing all of her best work in the closing stages and today’s extra two furlongs will be ideal.
