Nick Kyrgios wants French Open cancelled after Andy Murray meeting
Kyrgios made an unusual stop in London today as part of his preparation for the French Open.
The Australian hit all the headlines last week as he was disqualified from the Italian Open for throwing a stool during his match with Casper Ruud.
And instead of spending another week gearing up for the clay Grand Slam at Roland Garros, the 23-year-old has opted to have a hit with Sir Andy Murray at Wimbledon.
Kyrgios posted a video on his Instagram story of him walking through the All England Club ahead of his meeting with Murray.
The Brit is currently working his way back to full fitness following a hip operation earlier this year.
And Kyrgios wishes he could stick around in the English capital to compete on grass instead of returning to the red dirt.
“What’s going on,” Kyrgios said to his followers.
“I’m hitting with Andy Murray today.
“I think this is the best tournament in the world, look at this perfect green surface.
“Get rid of the clay, man. Who likes the clay it is so bad.
“Sir Andy Murray now.
“The fact that I am here right now and I have to go to Paris in a couple of days.
“The French Open sucks compared to this place. Sucks. Absolute sucks.”
Kyrgios also posted a photo of him sat down on the green Wimbledon courts on his timeline.
“Strawberries, Cream and a cheeky stop by the last [eight] club before Paris,” he wrote in the caption.
