The final movie in the Star Wars Skywalker saga is out in cinemas at the end of the year – and will see the exciting return of Lando Calrissian.

A new podcast from the popular fansite Making Star Wars has claimed that Lando will come with intriguing knowledge about Rey’s past.

As relayed by Bespin Bulletin on Instagram, the podcast claims – though stipulates that it should be treated “as a rumour” and not confirmed – that the Billy Dee Williams character will tell Poe and Finn what he knows about her.

It’s said that the fact – which is quite the bombshell – will connect heavily to Rey’s past.

So could it have anything to do with her parents?

Of course that’s completely unknown at this point, but it has been heavily implied that we’ll find out more about Rey’s heritage in the new film, after Kylo Ren told her that they were “nobodies” in 2017’s The Last Jedi.

A previous alleged leak – also to be treated as a rumour for the time being – claimed that Rey’s father links in to the return of Palpatine. More on that here.

Whatever the case, Daisy Ridley, who plays Rey, has promised a satisfying and emotional conclusion to the nine-movie saga.

“What I would say is that I think it’s a brilliant end to the story,” she told Good Morning America.

“And like J.J. [Abrams] and Chris [Terrio], who wrote it as well, have done an incredible job of like wrapping up, because there are so many references, obviously, to the nine films.

“But also [it] exists in its own thing. So, I think people are going to feel very satisfied.”

As of that particular interview in June, she hadn’t seen a full rough cut of the film, but had a very good feeling about what she had been shown.

“J.J. has shown me a couple bits, which was very exciting,” she recalled.

“When we went in to go see the trailer he showed me a few bits.

“It feels – I don’t know, I don’t know if it’s cause I’ve done more now like it’s always really hard to watch yourself, but this time I feel… it’s the most excited I’ve felt.”

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is out on December 19.
