Ivanka Trump: Donald Trump’s snub about daughter’s husband Jared Kushner revealed

Mr Trump once joked to Robert Kraft, owner of the New England Patriots, that: “Jared is half the size of Tom Brady’s forearm.”

This comment he openly said in front of Trump Organisation colleagues.

The real estate mogul and future President also had less than complimentary things to say about Jared’s father, Charlie Kushner.

Charlie is also a real estate tycoon, but had a dramatic fall from grace after he was caught fudging his accounts and illegally paying politicians.

In 2005, he pleaded guilty to 18 counts of aiding in the preparation of false tax returns, making false statements to the Federal Electoral Commission and retaliating against a witness.

The witness had been his own sister Esther, whose husband he set up with a sex worker, filmed the incident with a clandestine device and then sent her the tape.

Unluckily for Charlie, Esther immediately called the FBI and Charlie was eventually sentenced for nearly two years in prison.

According to ‘Kushner Inc’ author Vicky Ward, Donald thought Charlie was “stupid to have been caught by the feds”.

A source told her: “He really looked down on that.”

While Donald took hit shots at the Kushners, Jared himself also reportedly had “doubts” about his father-in-law.

Ms Ward wrote: “He would occasionally poke fun at Trump’s more extreme behaviour.

“A real estate executive who dealt with Jared recealled, ‘Jared would talk about his father-in-law like he was one-of-a-kind. You know, roll his eyes.”

Ivanka on the other had, had successfully ingratiate herself with her in-laws, Charlie and Seryl Kushner.

At first they had been “horrified” at the match and concerned that Jared was considering marrying outside of their Jewish faith.

Their concerns party contributed to the pair’s brief split in 2008.

However, Ivanka decided to convert and, despite Charlie making the process “as challenging as possible”, she passed with flying colours.

Eventually, Charlie and Seryl were “effusive” about her, with Charlie proudly explaining to a friend that Ivanka really wanted to be a Kushner.
