Meghan Markle shuns personal stylist leading to ‘incidents in the past’ like exposed label
Meghan Markle is admired for her style across the world.
She often wears high end designers, with her favourites including Givenchy and Prada.
However, the Duchess of Sussex has also made a number of basic fashion errors on royal tours in the past.
These include one embarrassing moment when the mum-of-one left a tag still on her dress.
Meghan wore a red Self Portrait dress to arrive in Tonga.
She stunning dress had long sleeves and a flowing skirt with embroidery on the chest and a belt at the waist.
The dress cost £380, but Meghan’s style aplomb was somewhat dissipated by the distracting label.
One amused Twitter users wrote: “There is always the chance Meghan was planning to return the dress.”
On other occasions Meghan has been criticised for wearing creased clothes.
The Duchess wore a beige coat and dress combination, with both the items looking pretty creased.
Family Guy writer/Will and Grace assistant producer Gary Janetti said in an Instagram post after viewing the images: “I’ll fly to New Zealand and iron that f***ing dress myself.”
Of course, it’s pretty normal for the average person to have creases in their clothes, but royal women are under extreme scrutiny. How do the likes of Kate Middleton steer clear of creases? The answer is a stylist.
Fashion PR expert Dominique St. Johns told Express.co.uk: “It is said that Meghan does not have a stylist, which could be seen as an advantage as she handpicks her clothes herself.
“However, on the other hand, she doesn’t have someone to take care of final touches on an outfit, like Kate.
“This has led to incidents in the past such as leaving the label on a dress or turning up to an event with a blouse slightly creased.
“This doesn’t reflect anything about their attitudes to royal duties, but that they are human and that mistakes can happen.
“I think Kate and Meghan are equally dedicated to their roles, but like the rest of us, they take a different approach.”
Stylists are on hand to ensure garments are perfect before appearances.
A stylist would most likely steam a garment just before a celebrity was to wear it to ensure there were no creases.
Meghan Markle’s clothing collection was released recently, with proceeds going to charity.
Experts have picked out subtle hunts to Harry the Duchess made in the collection.
