If you’ve been meaning to get around to binge-watching Mad Men, you don’t have to let a long, overseas flight get in your way.
Qatar Airways has been upgrading its award-winning in-flight entertainment system Onyx One, by adding a whole slew of new additions. Now your flight to Doha includes the opportunity to catch up on the Hitchcock Collection (including Hitchcock’s famed horror-classic Psycho,) The Fast & Furious collection, every single Star Wars film and the entire movie collection from Pixar Studios.
In total, the system is packed with 920 hours of entertainment, including 106 television series box sets. In fact, says the airline, the system offers so much content, a passenger would have to fly around the world 20 times before they could watch all of it.
“We know our passengers love the incredible variety of entertainment Qatar Airways offers through our award-winning in-flight entertainment system, Oryx One,” said Ms. Salam al Shawa, Qatar Airways Senior Vice President Marketing and Corporate Communications. “With more than 900 hours of specially-selected film and TV box-sets to choose from, and with up to 4,000 entertainment options available, we are sure our passengers will find exactly what they want to watch and listen to on their flight. Qatar Airways is committed to on-board innovation with the aim of making our content more personalized in order to provide the best in-flight entertainment in the sky.”
Starting in September, the system also started offering sci-fi TV series Battlestar Galactica and additional episodes from the BBC’s Dr. Who TV series.
There are plenty of regional favorites as well, including Arabic TV box sets, European TV thrillers and Bollywood films.

The system also includes branded TV channels like the BBC, Discovery and National Geographic and children’s programming such as Disney, Nickelodeon and the Cartoon Network. If that’s not enough, there are also games and music.
Celebrating 20 years, Qatar Airways is one of the fastest-growing airlines in the world. It now serves more than 150 destinations around the world and plans to add more than 20 new ones by the end of 2018, including Chiang Mai, Thailand; Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; San Francisco, U.S. and Santiago, Chile.
