James Bond odds: Exciting news about Dracula star to replace Daniel Craig as next 007

It’s the biggest job in Hollywood. Some of the biggest male stars (and a couple of female ones) are vying for the role as the iconic British secret agent. Obviously, you have to be hungry for the role. But what about blood-thirsty? A new favourite just proved you can be terrifying but also extremely charming. Bond has never shied away from killing in the line of duty but this new star somehow has become a hot favourite playing someone who kills for pleasure. He would also become the first Bond leading man sho’s name appears in one of the theme tunes…

Refreshingly, the latest man to enter the race is also a little older.

This might give renewed hope to Idris Elba fans after many started to fear the popular British actor was ageing out of the race to become Bond at 47.

As for the newcomer, not only is he 52 and a relative unknown, he is from Denmark. Is Bond about to go darker than ever and flirt with Scandi Noir?

In 2018 he talked about Bond in an interview, after his role in 2017 Cannes Palme D’Or film The Square brought him new attention.

He said; “I really love Daniel Craig in that part. I actually have been talking to Barbara Broccoli but about another project. I think, if she was thinking along those lines, she probably would have said it. But I don’t know.”

He is also realistic about his chances, particularly since he would be at least 55 before the first rebooted Bond film appears: “I think this is such good fun, but I might be too old after that.”

Meanwhile, the names at the top of the list to take over after Craig remain unchanged.
