Where is No Time to Die filmed?

Filming for No Time to Die, known previously as Bond 25, took place predominately in Pinewood Studios.

The cast was to begin filming on December 3, 2018, at Pinewood, though filming was then delayed until April 2019 when Danny Boyle departed as director.

However, a great number of places were used for the outside shots, with countries such as Jamaica, Italy, Norway and the UK featuring heavily.

Port Antonio, Jamaica, was used as the place where James Bond (Craig) retires, as shown in the trailer where Bond stares out into the distance over a gorgeous, tranquil river.

However, he has clearly been with his partner Madeleine Swann for some time in another location, in scenes filmed in the streets of Matera, Italy, with Craig and Lea Seydoux filming many shots in the streets as well as inside production-built sets.

Further sequences took place in Maratea and Gravina in Puglia, making Italy another key location for the movie.

Some scenes were also shot in Sapri in Southern Italy, such as the train station, where Bond looks on forlornly as the train leaves the station, and the town’s “midnight canal,” though the city name changed to Civita Lucana for the film.

In contrast, Bond’s main villain Safin (Rami Malek) is spotted around a frozen lake, and production images show what looks like a scene featuring a young Madeleine Swann on the ice.

Filming also took place in Nittedal, Norway, which was likely to capture a truly icy tundra, while the Atlantic Ocean Road was used to film a driving sequence near there

As well as this, additional scenes were filmed in the Faroe Islands, which could be the home of Safin’s icy lair.

Finally, London was a key sequence in the film, as Bond’s return to MI6 meant he had to return to the city to see M (Ralph Fiennes) and his faithful secretary, Moneypenny (Naomie Harris.)

For this, filming took place in Whitehall and Hammersmith, as well as Ascot, a little further out of the city.

The Cairngorms National Park in Scotland was also used for filming, as well as at the Ardverikie House Estate by Loch Laggan, meaning the UK was a key feature of the film, though what these areas show is unknown.

Where is No Time to Die set?

Some of the locations for filming are not clearly linked to the location on which they are set.

However, the official synopsis, of which there is very little, has revealed Bond does retire to Jamaica, meaning this is the exact place those sequences are based.

As well as that, MI6 is based in London, so the exterior shots of London will likely correlate with this.

Fans know from the trailer the villain of the piece lives in an icy tundra, however, where this is supposed to be is unclear, despite having been shot in Norway, and potentially parts of Scotland.

The final scene of Spectre also shows Bond and Madeleine Swann driving off for pastures new, so the idea of them settling in Italy is certainly not unlikely.

However, as is always the way with Bond, fans will be clearer on the events of the film and the locations once more details are released, and ultimately when the film comes out.

No Time to Die is out in cinemas on April 2
