Coronavirus prompts Netflix to rethink filming Dwayne Johnson's Red Notice in Italy
Coronavirus cases reported in Italy rose by 40 per cent yesterday, bringing the total number to 1,694. Italy currently has the highest number of confirmed cases of coronavirus outside Asia. So far, 34 people have died of the virus, officially named COVID-19, in the European country.
According to Deadline, Netflix’s upcoming heist flick Red Notice, which stars Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, Ryan Reynolds and Gal Gadot, was due to move to Italy for the next phase of filming in the coming weeks.
However, due to mounting concerns around the coronavirus outbreak there, Netflix are reportedly looking for alternative locations.
They are said to be reconsidering options for the Italian part of the shoot.
