James Bond 2020: Daniel Craig 'completely RUDE' making No Time To Die – 'Way too blunt'
James Bond actor Daniel Craig will make his last appearance as the iconic spy in No Time To Die in November, having previously said he wouldn’t be back for a fifth film. After the release of the previous Bond movie, Spectre, the star insisted he was done with the role. However, he was later persuaded to come back for one final round by producer Barbara Broccoli and an exciting narrative.
Sharing an insight into what’s to come from his last outing, Craig told GQ he’s been more involved with the writing of No Time To Die than any of his previous Bond films.
“I’ve kept my mouth shut before and I’ve stayed out of it and I’ve respected it and I’ve regretted that I did,” he told the publication.
He also said he hardly held back when workshopping the script wasn’t going how he thought it should be.
“I’ve been very forceful in meetings and often way too blunt and probably completely rude,” he admitted. “But I’m like, ‘We’re here! Come on!’ I always say sorry.”
Fleabag writer and star Phoebe Waller-Bridge was one of many changes to the behind-the-scenes line-up No Time To Die has seen over the course of its creation.
More diplomatic, she told the publication: “He is incredibly passionate about the work.
“Bond is very close to his heart and he fights for the integrity of the character every step of the way.”
No Time To Die director Cary Fukunaga, meanwhile, who came on board just three months before production was due to begin, revealed Craig would come up with dialogue for whole scenes, trying to give the character a voice.
“The film will be released in the UK on November 12, 2020 with worldwide release dates to follow, including the US launch on November 25, 2020.”
No Time To Die will see Bond retired from active service and staying away from the action, leading a quiet life in Jamaica.
That lifestyle is soon snatched away by a visit from old friend and CIA agent Felix Leiter (played by Jeffrey Wright), who comes to ask for help rescuing a kidnapped scientist.
Told he’s the only one Leiter can trust with the mission, Bond is put on the trail of a mysterious villain who’s armed with a dangerous new technology.
