Kylie Minogue follows Adele with Dolly Parton-inspired new video for Dancing
Everyone loves Dolly.
First Adele dressed up as the country superstar and gave everyone a bref scare that she had died.
Now Kylie has tipped her cowboy hat to the very-much-alive legend in her latest video.
The Aussie singer has always had a finger on the pulse of pop culture so she also somehow folds in a reference to the latest Disney PIXAR smash.
How? Scroll to to watch the video in all its rhinestone-encrusted glory.
The official release explains: “Kylie’s new video for her single ‘Dancing’ somehow re-imagines Ms Minogue in collaboration with Dolly Parton on the set of “The Day of the Dead” – with a depiction of a 1970’s Nashville motel room thrown into the mix.”
Got that?
Even death himself seems partial to rhinestones (black, of course) and Kylie also goes one better than those famous gold hotpants.
The hotpants were famously bought in a thrift shop and this time it’s a bargain guitar which has had the Kylie magic sprinkled over it – along with yet more rhinstones.
She struggled a little more learning a new style of dancing for the fun video.
Kylie confessed: “I always thought I could learn routines quickly but this was different. However, by the time I had to dance with the Grim Reaper at the end I had mastered it. And if that’s not a funny allegory for life I don’t know what is”.
Dancing’ is out now. Kylie’s forthcoming album ‘Golden’ will be released on 6th April 2018 via BMG.
