James Bond odds SLASHED on Emily Blunt replacing Daniel Craig as first female 007
The 35-year-old British star is currently wowing audiences in her husband John Krasinski’s critically acclaimed horror, A Quiet Place.
But now there’s a lot of noise surrounding her becoming the first female Bond.
According to Ladbrokes, Blunt has seen her odds slashed from 100/1 to 33/1, following a flurry of bets.
While the chances of any female replacing Craig as Bond are 11/1, she is currently the most likely actress to do so.
Perhaps Blunt is more likely to play one of those roles?
With previous talk of a James Bond cinematic universe, perhaps it would make more sense for Blunt to play the female MI6 agent, who gets her own spin-off as, say, 008.
After all why gender swap an established male character, when you can create a new female lead?
Earlier this year M star Judi Dench and Bond villain Christoph Waltz backed 007 staying male.
Dench said: “I think it should be a man.”
While Blofeld star Waltz added: Why?…Come on. Have your own movie if you want. Why does it have to be James Bond?
“What would be her first name? Jemima? My answer is decidedly not.”
James Bond 25 will be released in UK cinemas in November 2019.
