Aquaman 2 release date: Studio CONFIRMS release date for Aquaman 2 – when is it?

Aquaman was a major hit – leaving many fans and studio execs a little surprised. Starring Jason Momoa as Arthur Curry, AKA Aquaman, the movie made more than $1billion worldwide. The movie has spawned a sequel, but when will Aquaman 2 be out in cinemas?

“There’s going to be a lot. It’s way bigger!”

He also revealed to Esquire that the story is already locked in.

Momoa added: “I came in with a big pitch. I came in with the whole thing mapped out, and they loved it.”

For fans who are desperate to get some more DC action, however, they can currently catch Joaquin Phoenix playing The Joker in origin movie Joker, which was released earlier this year.

After that, Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) is out in February 2020, with trailer already whetting their appetites.

In Birds of Prey, fans can see what happened to Harley Quinn after the events of Suicide Squad, where she finally kicked her good-for-nothing boyfriend Joker to the kerb.

This Joker, however, is played by Jared Leto, who has been conspicuously left out of subsequent Suicide Squad and Joker movies.

Next up is Wonder Woman: 1984, which is out June 2, 2020.

This means DC fans will get two movies in one year, which is certain to leave them salivating and desperate for more.

Wonder Woman: 1984 will see Gal Gadot back in her gold armour, but this time working in conflict with the Soviet Union during the Cold War.

After this, fans will see Robert Pattinson as Bruce Wayne in The Batman, which is out on June 25, 2021.

Finally, Suicide Squad 2 has a release date of August 6, 2021.

Aquaman 2 is out in cinemas on December 16, 2022.
