Avengers Endgame: Chris Hemsworth ‘I know how it feels to be pregnant thanks to Fat Thor’
The Aussie star surprised Marvel fans in Avengers Endgame by introducing them to ‘Fat Thor’, or as he’s officially called, Bro Thor. The chunkier version of Hemsworth’s Asgardian saw the actor wearing a bodysuit that weighed a hefty 40kg. Speaking with the Australian Daily Telegraph, the 25-year-old said: “A very strange day at work, yeah. It weighed around 40kg so it was very heavy.”
Hemsworth continued: “It’s a silicon sort of prosthetic suit with a zip at the back, and at any moment people would come up and rub my stomach.
“I know how my wife feels now when she was pregnant!
“I had weights in my wrist and my ankles to make me move differently, but I enjoyed the transformation and freedom to do whatever I wanted with the character.
“Especially playing him again and again, you get locked into certain expectations. That kind of broke the mould completely and allowed me to swing for the fences.”
Before he clarified that his daughter actually preferred ‘Fat Thor’ after all.
The star continued: “I said, ‘Which did you like better?’ and she’s like, ‘The fat one.’
“And I said, ‘Oh really?’ And she goes, ‘Yeah, it’s funny.’ But she didn’t think I’d want to hear that.”
“I was like, ‘No, I like that version of him too.’
