Avengers Endgame SHOCK: 'Robert Downey Jr to RETURN to MCU as AI Tony Stark'

Iron Man is definitely dead, but what a way to go out in Avengers Endgame. Robert Downey Jr may have bowed out and left the Marvel Cinematic Universe after nine movies, but we’d be very surprised if he didn’t reprise the role. After all, it’s a move that’s made time and again by actors of film and TV from Doctor Who specials to Breaking Bad’s El Camino. But just how would Iron Man return?

Additionally, Downey Jr backed Ironheart replacing Iron Man in the MCU just a couple of months ago.

The star made the announcement at the Renaissance Gala at the Gene Siskel Film Centre in June.

A witness tweeted: “The real story here is that @RobertDowneyJr said publicly in a room full of people that #Ironheart should be in the MCU.”

They added: “I went straight back to the press area afterward and was like YOU ALL HEARD IT, WRITE THAT DOWN.”

Perhaps Ironheart will be announced for Marvel Phase 5, which kicks off from 2022.
