Avengers Endgame's ALTERNATE Loki CONFIRMED for Disney Plus TV show: Original Loki DEAD

Last year, Loki was strangled to death by Thanos in the opening of Avengers Infinity War. Nevertheless, the god of mischief has cheated death before in Thor: The Dark World, so fans were pretty sure he would return. Come Avengers Endgame and Hiddleston reprised the role, but as his younger self during the events of 2012’s Avengers Assemble. Of course, the time travel mechanics of the Marvel movie meant that this wasn’t just the past version of Loki, but an alternate one in a different reality of the multiverse.

During the Time Heist, 2023 Tony Stark was knocked over by 2012 Hulk, allowing 2012 Loki to escape with the Tesseract aka the Space Stone.

Marvel fans will remember this is not what happened in Avengers Assemble, with Loki being taken to prison on Asgard by Thor and the Tesseract living in Odin’s vault until Loki took it back in Thor Ragnarok.

Instead, this alternate Loki is free to have all kinds of adventures – and he’s very much still the villain we saw in the first Avengers movie.

And now Marvel Studios have announced that it’s this Loki and not the one who died (he’s really dead for good) who is the protagonist anti-hero of the upcoming Disney Plus TV series.
