Creed 2 spoilers: Does Rocky die in Creed 2? What happens to Rocky?
Warning, the below contains major spoilers for Creed 2. The Creed franchise brought the world of Rocky Balboa to a new generation of fans. With the introduction of Adonis Creed, Apollo’s son, played by Michael B Jordan, Rocky was given a new lease on life. But in the aftermath of the first Creed movie, many fans were wondering if Creed II would be Rocky’s last…
Does Rocky die at the end of Creed 2?
Lucky for fans of Stallone, Rocky does not die of the cancer diagnosis through which he suffered in the first Creed movie.
Rocky beat the cancer diagnosis, but that doesn’t mean the Creed sequel was an easy ride for Rocky.
According to ScreenRant: “Throughout the sequel, the cracks in Rocky’s life begin to expand.
“He’s most pointedly forced to address his role in Apollo’s death, but also keeps returning to his relationship with his estranged son.
CREED 2: WHO PLAYS DRAGO IN CREED II? WHICH ACTOR PLAYS DRAGO’S SON?
He stares longingly at pictures of Adrian and him at Robert’s birth, tries to call after seeing Adonis and Bianca with their daughter for the first time, and following the fight is left alone to ponder who he has while the Dragos comfort each other and the Creeds celebrate.”
However, despite Rocky’s survival, Stallone has since said he plans to retire from the franchise.
Taking to Instragram, Stallone shared a behind the scenes video.
In the video, Stallone says: “Well, this is probably my last rodeo because what I thought happened, and has happened, I never expected.
“I thought Rocky was over in 2006 [Rocky Balboa], and I was very happy with that.
“Then all of a sudden this young man presented himself and the whole story changed,” he said of Ryan Coogler.
Stallone continues: “It went on to a new generation. New problems. New adventures.
“And I couldn’t be happier as I step back because my story has been told, there’s a whole new world that’s going to be opening up with the audience, with this generation.
“Now you,” he says while pointing to Michael B. Jordan, “have to carry the mantle.”
In the comment, Stallone reiterated the sentiments.
He wrote: “I am reposting this because there was a technical difficulty.
“I just want to thank everyone around the whole wide World for taking the Rocky family into their hearts for over 40 years.
“It’s been my Ultimate privilege to have been able to create and play this meaningful character.
“Though it breaks my heart, Sadly all things must pass… and end. I love you Kind and generous people, and The most wonderful thing of all, is that ROCKY will never die because he lives on in you…”
Creed II is now playing in cinemas.
