Donald Trump 'SACKS' his national security advisor H.R. McMaster
Five people with knowledge of the plan have stated that Mr Trump is eyeing up several replacements for Mr McMaster that include former US ambassador to the United Nations, John Bolton and the Chief of Staff for the National Security Council, Keith Kellogg.
The dismissal of Mr McMaster has not been officially confirmed.
Following the dismissal of Mr Tillerson, the Republican firebrand declared that he is “very close” to having the Cabinet he wants.
He stated: “I’m really at a point where we’re getting very close to having the Cabinet and other things that I want.
“There will always be change.
“And I think you want to see change.
“I want to also see different ideas.”
The Washington Post, who claim to have spoken to White House insiders, reported Mr McMaster is not expected to be removed from his post immediately – Mr Trump is said to be willing to take his time in making a change in order to choose a suitable replacement.
The President is understood to have failed to develop good relations with his national security advisor after complaining that he is “too rigid” and his “briefings go on for too long”.
Mr McMaster’s predecessor, Michael Flynn, was ousted last year.
White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders has since come out on Twitter and denied the claims.
She stated that the pair have a “good working relationship”.
Ms Sanders explained: “Just spoke to Donald Trump and Gen. H.R. McMaster – contrary to reports they have a good working relationship and there are no changes at the National Security Council.”
However, back in December, Donald Trump furiously denied any claims that he had plans to oust Rex Tillerson.
He tweeted: “The media has been speculating that I fired Rex Tillerson or that he would be leaving soon – fake news!
“He’s not leaving and while we disagree on certain subjects, (I call the final shots) we work well together and America is highly respected again!”
The report by the Post delves into the inner details of the White House based on 19 advisors and administration officials.
It claims that the “mood inside the White House in recent days has verged on mania” and adds that staff are “nervous and anxious” at times.
Individuals have reportedly “openly joked about whose career might end with the next presidential tweet”.
A senior White House official declared: “Everybody fears the perp walk.”
