The Fox News senior judicial analyst Andrew Napolitano wrote in The Washington Times the President may not survive another week after his failed summit with North Korea, the embarrassing testimony from former lawyer Michael Cohen and the continuing investigations by House Democrats. Trump’s summit in Hanoi, Vietnam, with North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un was a failure after he did not reach a nuclear disarmament deal. After the summit, Trump told the media “sometimes you have to walk away” from a bad deal. However, given how much money had been put into the organisation of the summit it was deemed a failure.

On Wednesday, Trump’s former lawyer testified before Congress eliciting a string of accusations which include calling the president a racist, a con man and a cheat before implicating him in a multitude of crimes.

Mr Cohen said: “I am ashamed that I chose to take part in concealing Mr Trump’s illicit acts rather than listening to my own conscience.

“I am ashamed because I know what Mr Trump is. He is a racist. He is a conman. And he is a cheat.”

Trump claimed that Cohen’s appearance helped contribute to the failure of the summit.

Trump also faces a new investigation by the House Judiciary Committee which has issued document requests to 81 agencies, individuals and entities connected to the president.

Trump has dismissed these requests and called them a “disgrace to our country”.

The House of Representatives also blocked Trump’s declaration of a national emergency on the US-Mexico border.

The President is also being accused of abusing his power by demanding his son-in-law Jared Kushner be allowed to obtain top-secret security clearance along with his daughter Ivanka Trump.

Trump pushed for the clearances despite verbal and written objection from former Chief of Staff John Kelly and former White House counsel Don McGahn.

The Republican Mr Napolitano suggests the president needs to respond to these “tormentors” not by “mockery alone”.

He said: “He needs to address these issues soberly, directly and maturely.

“Can President Trump survive all this? Yes—but not if he has another week like the last one.”
