'Girls are a number, BANG one and move on' New film exposes what young men REALLY think

Have attitudes really started to change?

A disturbing new documentary takes unflinching look at the lives of young college students in America. But don’t think that it is all happening ‘over there.’ Some of the student interviewed are British.

One student brags: “I f**ed 25 of them hoes without a condom.”

When we think of university students, we usually think of groups of young adults binge drinking, being hungover and watching daytime TV but a new film by filmmaker Benjamin Nolot shows a darker side of the life of a student.

Liberated: The New Sexual Revolution, follows groups of British and American college students as they party during Spring Break and shows with shocking candour, their views and attitudes towards sex and women.

Over 75% of men on Spring Break will have at least one sexual partner in that time and 40% will not use protection but it is not just the casual hook-ups that are the issue, it’s the way that some of these young men are treating women like sex toys.

Shay, an Aussie lad (although his parents are British) is studying at Milwaukee College and is there for the first time with a group of guys from his college, who are all Brits.

He says: “Sex is just a number and getting it in.”

His friend, Shep, adds: “If she’s a trooper, once you’ve banged them, they’ll put their clothes on and do one!”

Liberated is a film that highlights the destructive world of meaningless sex that students live in. Shay meets a very intoxicated girl and within 15 minutes he has ‘banged’ her and she’s out the door. The biggest kick for him is sleeping with a virgin which he says is the ultimate challenge.

The film suggests it is no wonder that young men are now viewing women as sex toys. The sad and shocking truth is that these men act like this because they can, shaped by pop culture media.

Currently 96% of sexually objective images in the media are of women and there are now over 5000 adverts a day that children and young people are exposed to (compared to 500 in the 70’s).

Young people from from 5-18 years old spend up to 8 hours a day hooked up to devices that broadcast these images.

The film shows how women are sexually objectified with twerking competitions that the girls take part in and competitions where they take off their tops in front of leering and cheering college boys.

It shows that there is clear gender divide and they society is encouraging this disturbing behaviour.

Another student explains: “You can look at 20 different girls at one time in porn and it is the BD factor, better deal factor, you are always looking for the one with the better t**ts or tighter a*se.”

Disappointingly, the women shown don’t seem to hold any of the men accountable for their behaviour.

In fact, college student Dakota is shown talking about two friends separately hooking up with the same guy and her main comment is that he texted them both in the morning.

They both thought he was a lovely man because he texted them!

Liberated: The New Sexual Revolution will air this month in the UK on Netflix.
