Halloween sequel: How old is Jamie Lee Curtis? Is she in the new Halloween movie?
Jamie Lee Curtis made a name for herself with the original 1978 Halloween movie.
The film was her cinematic debut and earned her the nickname “The Scream Queen.”
Since then, Curtis has done everything from writing to activism to directing.
Jaime Lee Curtis, whose full name is Jamie Lee Haden-Guest, Baroness Haden-Guest, is an exceptional talent.
How old is she?
Jamie Lee Curtis is 59 years old.
She was born on November 22, 1958, in Santa Monica, California, USA.
At 20 years old, she made her acting debut in the first Halloween movie.
The actress has two children with her husband, Christopher Guest, 5th Baron Haden-Guest.
Is Jamie Lee Curtis in the new Halloween movie?
Yes, she is, and she’s back with a vengeance.
The plot of the 2018 Halloween movie is a direct sequel to the 1978 original.
In the first film, Laurie Strode survived a vicious attack from crazed killer Michael Myers on Halloween night.
The official synopsis continues: “Now, locked up in an institution, Myers manages to escape when his bus transfer goes horribly wrong.
“Laurie now faces a terrifying showdown when the masked madman returns to Haddonfield, Illinois.
“But this time, she’s ready for him.”
The Halloween franchise is where Curtis got her start, but she has done plenty since.
Having been dubbed the Scream Queen, she subsequently starred in various horror movies throughout the early 1980s including The Fog, Prom Night and Terror Train.
She also appeared in other Halloween sequels (whose plots were not taken into consideration for the 2018 movie).
Laurie featured in three previous sequels: Halloween II, Halloween H20, and Halloween: Resurrection.
But Curtis is more than just a horror movie staple.
She has been in movies from cult comedies to biopics.
Outside of acting, she is a philanthropist and activist.
The main cause she supports is children’s hospitals, but she also campaigned for LGBTQ rights.
Despite having inherited the title of The Right Honourable The Lady Haden-Guest, Curtis eschews it.
In an interview with Architectural Digest, Lee said the title “has nothing to do with me.”
Halloween is now playing in cinemas.
