IT: Chapter 2 CASTING – Guess which TWO stars are set to join Jessica Chastain’s Beverly?
Last year Stephen King’s horror was a box office smash, raking in over $700 million worldwide on a budget of just $35 million.
Not only is IT the highest grossing R-rated Horror of all time, but the film topped The Exorcist’s long reign.
Fans of the book will know the movie only covered the first half of the story, when the main characters are just children.
Well IT: Chapter Two is due in September 2019 and will be set 27 years later, when Pennywise returns and the Losers Club reunite to fight him once more.
With such success, it comes as no surprise that New Line are lining up some big stars to play the adults.
While Jessica Chastain has been confirmed as Beverly, now James McAvoy and Bill Hader are in talks to star.
According to The Hollywood Reporter McAvoy would star as Bill Denbrough, the Losers’ Club leader.
Meanwhile Hader would take on Richie Tozier, the class clown, who becomes DJ Finn Wolfhard.
Hader has long been a fan dream casting choice as Richie, while McAvoy may come as more of a surprise.
That still leaves four of the boys to cast and Ben Hanscom, the overweight member of the group, grows up to be quite the hunk.
A popular choice for his part is Chris Pratt, who actually did transform from loveable chubster to action A-lister in real life.
Meanwhile Bill Skarsgard will return as Pennywise the Dancing Clown alongside director Andy Muschietti and screenwriter Gary Doberman.
