King Charles amuses bystanders at engagement as he forgets what day it is and is reminded
King Charles III was seen laughing off a mistake as he forgot the date while signing a book during the royal engagement this afternoon. The monarch donned a kilt and blazer for the occasion as he the visited the Aboyne and Mid Deeside Community Shed. Charles was seen chatting away with people at the hub which aims to bring residents in the area together through workshops, arts, crafts and other activities.
A video from the Daily Mail’s royal editor Rebecca English on Twitter captured a light-hearted moment in which he needed to ask what day of January it is while signing the guest book.
“January the something,” he can be heard saying, before quickly adding, “the twelfth”.
But a bystander was on hand to confirm the date for the confused monarch, as he joked: “I’m still summer of ’22, Sir.”
The clip also showed a snippet of the King’s conversation with what appears to be a volunteer at the hub.
