Meghan Markle: 'Inspiring' Duchess praised as incredible impact of Disney role REVEALED
Meghan Markle will be making her return to movies just days after she and Prince Harry officially stop being senior royals next week. Yesterday, she was confirmed as the narrator for Disney’s new documentary Elephant. In support of the film, which will be streaming on Disney+ next month, Disneynature and the Disney Conservation Fund are donating to a charity close to Meghan and Prince Harry’s hearts: Elephants Without Borders.
Today, following the announcement, Elephants Without Borders revealed the impact Meghan’s move would have on the world.
“Elephants Without Borders (EWB) is delighted to be involved with the Disneynature film Elephant and to help share the amazing story of elephants,” they said in a statement on their Instagram page.
“EWB extend enormous gratitude to the Disney Conservation Fund for choosing our organization as the beneficiary for the film, enabling support for communities living alongside many of the elephants featured in the film.
“The partnership and support it provides, will directly help elephant conservation and empower these communities,” the charity revealed. “We are excited and immensely grateful for this incredible opportunity, which will enable us to continue our efforts in support of local communities and their coexistence with elephants.”
EWB called Meghan and her husband Prince Harry “inspiring”, saying: “Harry and Meghan’s dedication to conservation is inspiring.
“Together, we will continue to work to conserve Africa’s natural heritage, with a focus on empowering the people who coexist with elephants.
“Everyone at EWB is grateful for their friendship and their unwavering support of our efforts to conserve this iconic species,” the statement said.
“Harry and Meghan have both visited us in Botswana, and have no doubt that their passion and dedication will mean they continue to use their platform to make our world a better place,” the charity explained.
Meghan’s voiceover job is her first move back into Hollywood since exiting her role as Rachel Zane in US legal drama Suits after announcing her engagement to Prince Harry back in 2017.
Before joining the Royal Family, she made a name for herself as an actress, also appearing in the likes of Horrible Bosses and A Lot Like Love.
Meghan and Prince Harry will be ditching their HRH titles when they separate from the Royal Family in a matter of days.
They will be working to become financially independent and will cease to perform duties as senior royals.
