Meghan Markle wears pricey 'mommy' necklace – a gift from her New York baby shower
Meghan Markle wore a smart neutral outfit today to appear on stage with Prince Harry.
She wore a golden necklace, which read ‘mommy’, from designer Jennifer Meyer, worth £646.69.
The Duchess was treated to the shower by her friends Amal Clooney and Serena Williams, amoung others.
The sweet accessory features the American spelling of the world ‘mummy’.
The heavily pregnant Duchess of Sussex clung onto the Prince, who wore a grey suit.
Her hair was loose and wavy and she wore a navy suit jacket.
Last night the two were at an event with the rest of the Royal Family.
However, a body language expert told Express.co.uk that the Duchess of Sussex appeared isolated.
Yesterday Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton did not appear close at the 50th anniversary of the investiture of the Prince of Wales at Buckingham Palace.
Judi James, a body language expert, claimed the Duchesses were “showing no body language bonding at all.”
She added: “Kate and William appear to take their place just behind the Queen and Charles and Camilla while Meghan arrives in the room to one side from the group with Harry arriving behind.
“Whether it’s a trick of the camera angle or not, Meghan looks slightly isolated here, with a rather sweet smile on her face and her bag lifted and clutched with two hands over her baby bump.”
Kensington Palace tweeted: “Today, The Duke of Sussex – accompanied by The Duchess of Sussex – spoke at #WEDay in London. The @WEMovement is a global initiative to encourage young people to take part in positive social change.
“His Royal Highness was speaking as President of The Queen’s Commonwealth Trust. @queenscomtrust champions, funds and connects young leaders of social purpose ventures around the world.”
Harry helped his pregnant wife onto the stage at today’s event prompting cheers.
He told the crowd: “I am with you and we are with you, now get to work!”
The royal line of succession – who outranks who?
The line of succession to the British throne dictates the order in which each member of the Royal Family would ascend to the throne.
It is also seen as a ranking of importance with the head of the line, the Queen, taking the place of ruler.
Older children come before younger children. Traditionally boys came before girls, but this law was changed on 26 March 2015 before the birth of Prince William’s first child.
Incredibly, Catholics are still excluded from the line of succession, as are children born outside of wedlock.
The royals, who usually stick to a strict protocol when appearing in public, often arrive at events in ascending order of importance, with the most important royal arriving last.
Prince Charles, 70, is currently second-in-line to the British throne, followed by Prince William, 37, his oldest son.
Then comes Prince William’s children, George, five, Charlotte, three, and Louis, almost one, and they are followed by Prince Harry, 37.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s child will come next when they are born.
