Meghan Markle, 38, opted for clothes from her collection for the launch today, but she added a sentimental twist to the look. Paying tribute to Princess Diana – who she never got to meet – the Duchess of Sussex wore a pair of butterfly earrings and a gold bracelet which belonged to Prince Harry’s mum. She also sported a gold and blue stone bangle on her wrist – another item from Diana’s personal collection. Princess Diana was seen wearing the bracelet as she greeted Nellie Corbett during her visit to the Lord Gage Centre in Newham, in 1990.

She was also seen with the bracelet in 1994, as she visited an event at the Alfred Dunhill store in Mayfair.

The butterfly earrings were worn by Princess Diana during a tour of Canada with Prince Charles in 1986.

Meghan has worn these previously, sporting them during her own royal tour with Prince Harry, when the duo visited Fiji.

Mum-of-one Meghan sported a mixture of designer pieces and clothes from her new collection as she stepped out today.

She was spotted wearing a crisp white shirt, black trousers and Princess Diana’s bracelets as she headed to the John Lewis store on Oxford Street.

Meghan dressed smartly for her first day back at work wearing a fitted white shirt which was tucked into her trousers.

She rolled up her sleeves and left a few buttons undone in the tailored look.

Meghan matched this with a pair of mid-rise A-line black trousers which cut off at the ankle.

Her look was pulled together with a £85 Ralph Lauren brown belt which had a gold buckle. The new mum matched the design with a pair of closed toe suede brown high heel Manolo Blahnik pumps, on sale for £563.

How is the Duchess settling back into work? Body language expert Judi James analysed Meghan’s return to work, and she told Express.co.uk the new mum is “keen” to get back to business.

Judi said: “Meghan’s styling and her non-verbal signals here suggest she’s keen to make a return to the public eye, emphasising her traits of tactile, natural and quite low-key friendliness blended with a casually-dressed, campaign-based work ethic.

“This is Meghan stripped of all the Hollywood glam and royal formality just getting on with a job that means a lot to her in terms of her core values.

“All her body language in these poses suggest very direct communication via unsubtle tie-signs to register the fact that she’s among people she considers friends.

“Her smiles are very direct, involving the kind of knowing head-tilt of recognition that suggests she’s happy to be back at work.

“Her smiles involve more than the usual royal smiles, with some eye-narrowing and wrinkling and raised, rounded cheeks to suggest genuine happiness and enthusiasm.”
