Meghan Markle: Why doesn’t she wear the Queen’s jewels like Kate Middleton?
Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton are high profile royals and married to the grandson’s of Queen Elizabeth II. On their wedding days, the Duchesses both borrowed stunning tiaras from the Queen’s royal collection to walk down the aisle. Since then, Kate has borrowed more pieces from the collection – has Meghan?
Earlier this year, it was reported the Queen banned Meghan Markle from wearing her jewellery.
Reports claimed although the Queen has often loaned jewellery to royals including Kate, she would not give Meghan the same privilege.
A source told The Sun: “This is a surprising situation that has been going on behind the scenes over the past few months and has caused tension and upset, especially for Harry.
“It is at the discretion of the Queen and trusted advisers which items in the Royal Collection she chooses to loan out and to whom.”

Since becoming part of the family, Meghan has rarely been spotted wearing pieces belonging to the royal collection which could be down to a decision made by the Queen.
The Queen must give her approval before any royal jewels are worn in public, journalist Dan Wooton explained on Lorraine.
He said: “The Queen is in charge of the royal collection, a massive collection of all of the artefacts that the country and the Royal Family own.
“Included in that are some iconic prices of jewellery, many of which have been lent to Princess Diana.”
DON’T MISS
Although she has not worn pieces from the royal collection, he has still stepped out in jewels which belonged to Prince Harry’s mother.
To attend the launch of her clothing collection, she wore a pair of small stud earrings and gold bracelets which belonged to Princess Diana.
The reason Kate wears more royal jewellery could actually be down to a choice made by both of the Duchesses.
Speaking to Express.co.uk, stylist, Charlotte Balbier explained it might be a matter of personal taste.
