Neymar takes drastic action to push through Barcelona transfer as star sends PSG message

That’s according to Spanish publication SPORT.

Neymar is desperate to leave PSG this summer and return to Barcelona, but so far he has been unable to secure a move.

The Brazilian forward has told the club that he wants out, and is now waiting to see if a move can be facilitated.

PSG are unwilling to sell, however, and have demanded £165million from Barca if they are to sign him.

Instead, the Catalan giants have only offered player-plus-cash deals, with two stars being offered up in exchange for the 26-year-old.

And apparently, Neymar is so desperate to leave the French club that he is refusing to play.

He is currently training on his own during the club’s pre-season tour of China, and has not featured in any games.

The £198m man has reportedly decided that until his move to Barca is green-lit by PSG chiefs, he will not play.

SPORT reports that Neymar has “planted”, and will refuse to play any more competitive games.

This leaves PSG in a difficult position, after it was claimed that sporting director Leonardo was trying to persuade him to stay another year in the French capital.

However, with Neymar reportedly refusing to play, it seems unlikely that they will be successful in doing so.

Meanwhile, PSG chiefs have reportedly set up a meeting with Barcelona president Josep Bartomeu in Liverpool, as they try to iron out a deal.

PSG owner Nasser Al-Khelaifi is set to meet with Bartomeu at the European Club Association meeting on August 15 in Liverpool.

The two clubs still have a rocky relationship stemming from the fallout from Neymar’s original transfer in 2017.

And that lack of relationship has made his return seem near-impossible, though it is reported that the two sides are working on a deal.
