Nine Inch Nails tickets: Chaos as fans rush for London Royal Albert Hall concert
After their stint at the Meltdown Festival sold out instantly, they announced another show for June 24.
Those tickets went on sale at midday and are in almighty demand.
Tickets are being sold via the Royal Albert Hall website with a maximum of four per booker.
Demand is so huge that the venue’s site experienced extreme difficulties – with even the online waiting room reaching capacity.
“We have an online waiting room in place, so that as many users as possible may buy tickets fairly in order of queuing, but even this is currently full,” a warning read.
“Thank you for your patience. We recommend you visit us again in a short while.”
Fans’ stress was reflected in an outpouring of tweets amidst the chaos.
One person raged: “@RoyalAlbertHall your waiting room was left open from the pre-sale, which meant people got in the queue before @nineinchnails general sale at 12 – so disappointed in how this was handled!”
“This whole buying tickets process is ridiculous, there wasn’t even space for me in the ‘virtual waiting room’ within 1 second of noon hitting,” said another.
A third quipped: “Whooo I’m 4265 in the queue. I should get a Sold Out message at 5 ish! Yay!”
Trent Reznor revealed yesterday that a new EP from the band will arrive before the June shows.
No release date is known at present, but it’s safe to assume that new music will be on the way sooner rather than later.
