No Time To Die: New James Bond title revealed – what do we know about Bond 25?
Bond 25 has been given a new name – No Time To Die. The Bond 25 flick has had a chequered production history so far, with new directors and writers being brought in at various points. Here is what Express.co.uk knows about No Time To Die so far.
Why is it called No Time To Die?
At present, the meaning behind the new title is unknown. The film is the eighth James Bond flick to reference death/life/killing in its title, and there have been countless theories as to the truth around it.
Esquire has suggested one reason for this title could be that Bond actually has time to die, given he has left active service, but as he is brought back to spying he has to keep going with his dangerous game.
Forbes has suggested this could be a metaphor for the continued survival of the James Bond franchise when pitted against other big franchises such as Marvel.
The title was reported to have been Shatterhand, so it may be that these two things are related, or that the new name will link to his upcoming mission.
What is No Time To Die about?
The film will start with James Bond retired living in Jamaica, before his friend and former colleague comes to collect him for a mission.
The pair need to rescue a scientist who has been abducted, but this leads them to even more trouble as they discover an underworld they had not expected.
Other than these details, very little has been revealed about the plot, and will likely be kept under wraps until right up to the release.
Who is in the cast of No Time To Die?
Daniel Craig will be reprising his role as James Bond, as well as Léa Seydoux, Ben Whishaw, Ralph Fiennes, Naomie Harris, Jeffrey Wright, Rory Kinnear and Christoph Waltz as Blofeld.
These actors will all be reprising their roles from previous films, however new members of the franchise include Rami Malek in an unknown villainous role, Lashana Lynch as Noms, and Ana de Armas as Paloma.
Phoebe Waller Bridge will be helping to write the script, with Cary Joji Fukunaga directing after Danny Boyle dropped out.
When is No Time To Die out in cinemas?
No Time To Die comes out in cinemas on April 8, 2020.
At present, there are teaser trailers to give fans a taste of what is to come, though at present a full trailer has not been released.
