Olivia Olson is now a 27-year-old actress and singer-songwriter and has come a long way since she shot to fame in her first ever film role.

Back in 2003, she stole the show amongst the star-studded cast of Love Actually, playing talented singing schoolgirl Joanna Anderson.

Joanna was somewhat of a key — if absent — character for the majority of Richard Curtis’ classic rom com as the object of young Sam’s (played by Thomas Brodie-Sangster) affection.

Fans will remember her best, however, for her vocal talents in the school nativity concert scene where she belted out a stunning rendition of Mariah Carey’s All I Want for Christmas Is You.

In Love Actually, Olson’s character took to the stage to dazzle the audience with her singing skills, at the end turning to point directly at Sam as she crooned: “All I want for Christmas is… you!”

Sam’s face then falls as she proceeds to gesture at several others, though, adding: “And you, and you…”

Thankfully, his luck changes when he decides to dash to the airport at the last minute to tell Joanna how he feels before she hops on a flight back home to America for Christmas.

Running through the airport, he eventually gets a sweet peck on the cheek from his crush.

Back in the present day, Olson is keen to emphasise that she’s not just the Love Actually star people remember her as.

“For the love of god I’m so much more than the Love Actually girl!” she told the MailOnline.

Going on to open up about taking part in X Factor: Celebrity, she admitted: “I didn’t think I’d be as nervous as I was.

“When you step up there it hits you in the face how real it is and how badly you want it.

“You get up there and it’s like, ‘This is really my moment to prove myself.’”

In the years since Love Actually, Olson has had success as a voice actor, playing parts in Phineas and Ferb, Adventure Time and The Powerpuff Girls.

She has also continued to forge ahead with her singing career.

Back in 2013, she dropped her debut EP, Beauty in Chaos and she has also contributed songs to Phineas and Ferb, including a duet with Ashley Tisdale, Busted!

Olson boasts over 60,000 subscribers on YouTube, where she regularly shares covers and, last year, her new album Nowhere Land.

Tonight marks her X Factor debut.

Speaking to Metro, Olson opened up on her musical style, saying: “I’m a jazz and blues singer at the core, but I’ve also got a bit of an edge too, so I don’t know how you would explain that.

“I want to do something new,” she added.

X Factor: Celebrity continues tonight at 8.30pm on ITV.
