Revealed: The secret Kate Middleton will not know until AFTER royal baby number 3 is born
Kate, who is due to give birth on an undisclosed date in the next three weeks, has kept the sex of the royal baby a mystery leaving royal spectators waiting in anticipation.
And excitement mounted yesterday after a temporary parking restriction was put in place outside St Mary’s Hospital, where Kate Middleton is due to give birth later this month.
The restriction can be seen in South Wharf Road, and is in place from April 9 to April 30, with many people predicting that the royal baby will arrive on St George’s Day on April 23.
This is the first official sign of preparations being made by the hospital ahead of Kate’s imminent birth.
The road leading to the Lindo Wing was also sealed off, and barriers for the world’s media were erected on Monday.
Excited fans and royal spectators have reportedly already started gathering around the hospital days before the royal birth in order to catch a first glimpse of the royal baby.
However, in contrast to the birth of Prince George on July 22, 2013, the world’s media will not be permitted to congregate in front of the Lindo Wing until an official announcement has been made by Kensington Palace that Kate is in labour and Prince William is in attendance at the hospital.
In anticipation of the media descending on the Paddington hospital, the black railings outside the Lindo Wing have also reportedly been receiving a touch up.
Inside the private wing of the NHS hospital Kate will be cared for by a team of doctors and nurses led by royal gynaeologist Dr Guy Thorpe-Beeston and Dr. Alan Farthing, who also led the teams that helped deliver Princess Charlotte on May 2, 2015.
The news of the royal birth, along with details of the baby’s gender, weight and time of birth will be published shortly after Kate gives birth.
And in line with royal custom, an official notice will be placed outside Buckingham Palace on an easel by a royal footman.
Kate’s last official engagement was in March at the Olympic Park with Prince William, and has since been on maternity leave.
The Duke and Duchess have since been enjoying an Easter retreat at their Norfolk home, Anmer Hall.
Kate was last seen shopping for groceries in her local branch of Waitrose in Norfolk.
The Royal couple will return to London ahead of her birth later this month.
