Skyscraper release date: When is the new Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson movie out in USA and UK
Skyscraper is due to be released in both 2D and 3D in the UK on July 12.
US film fans will have to wait an extra day, as the film will be released across the pond on July 13.
The movie follows the life of former FBI agent and amputee Will Sawyer.
He lives in the tallest and supposedly safest skyscraper in Hong Kong with his family.
The skyscraper is also known as “The Pearl” and has several floors that serve as their own society.
Sawyer, who is the building’s head of security, points out risks to the building to his bosses.
However, he says it is indestructible.
Sawyer’s fears come true when the building eventually comes under attack by terrorists.
He is then forced to take action to save his family.
When he is subsequently framed for the terrorist attack, his family become trapped above the resulting fire line.
The movie stars Dwayne Johnson, who also known as The Rock from his WWF wrestling era.
His film credits include The Mummy Returns, Tooth Fairy, G.I Joe: Retaliation and Moana.
Neve Campbell, who plays his wife, made her name in the Scream movies series.
Skyscraper was written and directed by Rawson M Thurber, who is also known for his work on Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story and We’re The Millers.
Filming for the movies started in September 2017, in Vancouver, Canada.
