Star Wars 9 Rise of Skywalker: Daisy Ridley ‘MORE to Rey's parents’ PLUS Palpatine tease
Earlier this year Avengers Endgame’s plot was shrouded in mystery. And now Disney is working hard to make it the same for Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker.
Nevertheless, teases have been shared from cast and director of what fans can expect, in a new interview with Entertainment Weekly.
During The Last Jedi, Kylo Ren claimed Rey’s parents were nobodies, but there might be more to this mystery than meets the eye.
Daisy Ridley teased: “The parents thing is not satisfied — for her and for the audience.
“That’s something she’s still trying to figure out — where does she come from?”

Ridley added: “It’s not that she doesn’t believe it.
“But she feels there’s more to the story.
“And she needs to figure out what’s come before so she can figure out what to do next…”
The Force Awakens actor Simon Pegg has previously teased that director JJ Abrams originally intended to go with “a kind of relevant lineage for her” before The Last Jedi’s Rian Johnson changed it.
Is Rey a Palpatine?
One of the most popular theories is that Rey is a Palpatine, and will have to decide whether to go the way of her blood or the way of Skywalker.
But of course Darth Sidious created Anakin Skywalker in the womb of his mother, so technically both are one and the same.
Whatever the case, Episode IX really will end what was started in the prequels and original trilogies – especially in terms of Palpatine’s involvement.
Poe star Oscar Isaac shared a very interesting hint to do with the Emperor’s return.

Isaac said: “This has been a very long chess match that’s been played between the Jedi and the Sith — all the way back to the very beginning.
“It’s an amazing thing to see that really come to the forefront.”
The outlet speculated that The Rise of Skywalker could mean a reunion of Force ghosts, which would certainly be fitting for the final chapter.
We saw Yoda in The Last Jedi, but surely it’s time for Obi-Wan and Anakin to reappear with Luke?
Asked what Force ghosts can and can’t do in the world, Abrams simply replied: “That’s probably best answered by not answering it.”
Nevertheless, the director has teased there’s lots of the film that we’ve not even seen glimpses of.
He added: “The [trailers] that have come out are scratching the surface of what the movie is.”
Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker is released in UK cinemas on December 19, 2019.
