What’s New at 'Alohilani Resort Waikiki Beach?
It’s been a thrilling new year for ‘Alohilani Resort Waikiki Beach.
Celebrating their grand opening in May, the property went through a $125 million redevelopment that was five years in the making.
TravelPulse recently one-on-one with Lisa DeCambra, Director of Sales & Marketing, ‘Alohilai Resort.
DeCambra has been with ‘Alohilani for six months. She was previously the Director of Sales & Marketing at The Modern Honolulu and has repositioned, opened, or launched independent as well as well as luxury hotels and resorts in Hawaii, including The Royal Hawaiian, Kahala Mandarin and Molokai Ranch to name a few.
DeCambra opens up on what travelers can expect at ‘Alohilani Resort Waikiki Beach.
TravelPulse: What’s new and exciting at ‘Alohilani?
Lisa DeCambra: EVERYTHING is new and Exciting! The Swell Bar, Lounge and Pool Deck is definitely the HOTTEST place to see and be seen. It was considered one of the top 10 most “Instagram-worthy Pools in America” by InStyle Magazine.
Our Cabanas, nightly music both at Swell and the Ocean Bar & Lounge are addicting. Morimoto Asia & Momosan also hot and in demand. Our new event spaces and contemporary new rooms and suites are the talk of the town.
TP: How does ‘Alohilani work with travel agents?
LD: We have a dedicated on-site Sales Manager as well as a Southern California based manager to cater to our valued Agent partners.
We also work with select wholesale partners and luxury programming and value ad inclusions for repeat and long stays. We are a part of Preferred Hotels & Resorts.
TP: What should travelers know about the suites available at ‘Alohilani?
LD: We only have 6! And they are beautiful, spacious with stunning Diamond Head and Ocean Front views. Book early!
TP: And what about the food at ‘Alohilani?
LD: Our Swell Bar & Lounge, O Bar & Lounge & Lychee all offer fresh, innovative dishes with a Pacific Island flair. Internationally renowned Iron Chef Masaharu Morimoto offers his signature innovative cuisine at two beachside dining experiences on property: Morimoto Asia and Momosan.
TP: What advice would you give to someone visiting Hawaii for the first time?
LD: Each island is SO very different including the experiences. Oahu offers the best of all worlds, the town and country experience. The island has rainforest and beautiful quiet beaches that make you feel like you are in the middle of nowhere.
In addition, there’s a rich history here with many historical landmarks melding in with new up-and-coming neighborhoods, buzzy local restaurants, bars and nightlife, art and music, and world-class shopping and golf all only minutes away.
TP: What types of activities at or near ‘Alohilani should travelers be aware of?
LD: Our location is literally 60 steps from door to shore and the famous Waikiki Beach offers some of the best in class ocean excursions ranging from surfing, catamaran rides, stand up paddle boarding; snorkeling, and more!
Truly an ideal location to call home-base for explorers, we’re situated a short walk or bike ride to spectacular hiking trails such as the iconic Diamond Head crater; Honolulu Zoo; Waikiki Aquarium, and short drive to historical sites such as Iolani Palace, Mission House; botanical gardens, Museums including contemporary Art experiences and music and shopping! Of course, don’t forget about the best eats in the world, from Celebrity Chef dining to food trucks.
