World War 3: Pakistan ‘WORRIED’ about India ‘PREDATOR DRONE technology’ as tensions rise

Islamabad’s foreign office spokesman, Mohammad Faisal, issued the concern during a weekly media briefing amid concerns New Delhi could utilise the technologies for surveillance and reconnaissance.

He said: “India’s development of drone technology is worrying when seen in the larger context of its buildup and expansion of military capabilities in the conventional and non-conventional domains, which are subjecting regional strategic stability to increasing strain.”

India recently carried out a successful test of its Rustom 2 drone that is regarded as being similar to the US’ predator drones.

Donald Trump’s military arsenal includes the MQ-1 Predator that has previously been modified to include AGM-114 Hellfire missiles and other capable weapons.

It is unknown if there are any future plans for India to place weapons on their drones.

The Rustom 2 is understood to have the capabilities to fly for up to 24 hours straight.

Mr Faisal declared that the Indian drones should abide by the UN charter, international humanitarian law, and other procedures.

During the speech outlining his concerns, he also lambasted the decision of India’s Motion Pictures Producers’ Association (IMPPA) to uphold its ban on actors and artists from Pakistan as “yet another evidence of pervading extremism and anti-Pakistan prejudice in India”.

He went on: “It is unfortunate that art and cinema which bring people together by acting as cultural bridges are being held hostage to hate and xenophobia.”

The spokesman remarked that the ban followed others “including non-issuance of visas to Pakistani pilgrims, refusal to allow participation of Sikhs and Katas raj pilgrims and cancellation of sports matches underscore the growing intolerance and bias prevalent in India exposing it of the sham-ocracy it is increasingly becoming.”

The increased tension between the two nuclear-armed nations comes at a time both are consistently violations the ceasefire that is in place along the LoC.

Earlier this week the Pakistan foreign ministry claimed that New Delhi was responsible for 400 violations along the border this year.

It declared that 68 citizens have been injured along with another 18 killed from deadly attacks.

The main area of tension between the two South Asian nations stems from the Jammu and Kashmir region.

Wars between India and Pakistan in 1947 and 1965 centred around competing claims for the area.

Both sides have been responsible for violations along the border.
