Venom deleted scenes: Tom Hardy claims his favourite moments have been CUT

The movie arrives this week on a wave of hype, with Hardy set to impress as one of the big villains of the Spider-Man universe.

In a new interview, the star was asked about his favourite parts to make – and he said none of them have made it to the finished edit.

“Things that aren’t in this movie,” he responded.

“There are like 30 to 40 minutes worth of scenes that aren’t in this movie… all of them.

“Mad puppeteering scenes, dark comedy scenes. You know what I mean? They just never made it in.”

Still, director Ruben Fleisher has previously insisted that any deleted scenes were not removed in order to make it more appropriate for its PG-13 certificate.

“What I’ve said in the past is that we wanted to push the violence to the hilt,” he told Comicbook.com.

“The Dark Knight was always a huge reference point for me, personally, just as far as how far you could take a PG-13.”

And producer Matt Tolmach insisted: “There isn’t some phantom version of the movie.

“Everyone is asking us that. Is there an R-rated cut sitting there? There isn’t.”

Hardy recently also confirmed that he signed up to make sequels – if studio bosses decide they want them.

“I’m open to whatever you want to do with it,” he told Total Film.

“We’ve signed up for three of them. So it’s very much an open case. We’ll see what people’s responses are to it.”

He added: “I think it’s an awesome character. I love playing both of them.

“It’s an amuse-bouche, and for Sony, it’s the Venom-verse launched in isolation, as it were.”

Venom is out on Wednesday.
