A Star is Born age rating: How old do you have to be to watch A Star Is Born?

A Star Is Born tells a story as old as time – a love story between two people who, despite their love, may be incompatible.

Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper play the two in love – Ally and Jackson Maine.

Both are musicians – Jackson an accomplished one battling his own demons.

Ally is the opposite – an unknown singer who is on the brink of giving up her dream of becoming a star.

How old do you have to be to watch A Star Is Born?

A Star Is Born is rated 15 by the British Board of Flim Classification.

This means no one younger than 15 may see A Star Is Born in the cinema.

The BBFC describes the movie’s rating relating to language specifically with the frequent use of strong language and milder terms some viewers may still find offensive.

The BBFC continues: “There is the occasional sight of a man swallowing unidentified pills and at one point crushing and snorting them.

“There is also brief marijuana misuse.

“The work as a whole does not condone drug misuse.”

Dealing with mental health issues, the film also has a scene of “implied off-screen suicide, in addition to infrequent non-graphic verbal suicide references.”

“Infrequent moderate violence includes a sequence in which one man punches another’s face, knocking him down.

“There are infrequent moderate sex scenes, without visible nudity, as well as the fleeting sight of breast nudity in a scene in which a man and a woman share a bath.

“There is also a brief glimpse of full frontal female nudity in a non-sexual context.”

Additionally, A Star is Born has some flashing images which can affect viewers who are susceptible to photosensitive epilepsy.

A Star Is Born is both an emotional, heartfelt love story, but also a tale of a man on the edge of his own destruction.

The movie currently holds a 95 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes and critical reception has been positive.

A Star Is Born goes head to head with Venom for its opening in both the US and UK.
